My polish picks 2014

Hey ladies!

The year 2014 is nearly over so I decided to show you my polish favourites of this year!
They are all favourites of different reasons and if I had more time, there would be more. But I decided to choose these!

Christmas Nail art

Hy Ladies!

How are you? How were your holidays? Did you get cool presents and spent some time with your loved ones?
I'm sorry I was absent so long, but the holiday business caught me fully, but now I'm back with my Christmas mani, which I photographed with my new Canon G16! Yes!! I got a really cool camera from my fiance for Christmas, how nice is that??

Mr. Grey will see you now or a swatch post

Hey ladies!

Are you a fan of 50 Shades of Grey by E.L. James? Have you read the books?
No? Then you are a real rarity! :)
I confess, I'm a big fan of the series. Next to fantasy I'm a fan of paranormal romance and sometimes I like to read erotic literature. Yes, I know, normally those books are not very sophisticated, but I love love-stories and I doesn't mind, if they are a bit... ahem... juicy. :)
Today I want to show you a polish from the upcoming O.P.I. - 50 Shades of Grey Collection!

Swatch - O.P.I. - Comet in the sky

Hey ladies!

I recently found a little treasure in Vienna! It is a small O.P.I. Salon! Can you believe this?? The owner and her mother are really nice people and we talked about nail art and polish. I will definitely visit this shop more often. The most exciting about this visit? I got a fresh bottle of My Boyfriend scales Walls (she said, it's her last and she doesn't think she will get them anymore) and a bottle of the new 50 Shades of Grey Collection (I will show you this one in another post soon)!!
But now, I want to show you Comet in the Sky from the Gwen Stefani Holiday Collection, which I also bought there!

Guest post at ssunysideup

Hey ladies!

I guest posted for Sabrina at ssunnysideup, with a Winter/Christmas mani and I also talk about Austrian Christmas traditions!
Sabrina does a Christmas series now on her blog, where all the ladies talk about Christmas traditions and it's very interesting!
So head over!

Here is the link to switch directly to my post - LINK

Thanks a lot Sabrina, for letting me guest post for you!

Essie Jiggle hi jiggle low Collection swatch and nail art

Hey ladies!

How are you on the second Advent Sunday? It's really frustrating not to have more time to post, but Christmas time is a busy time, but I hope to post more. I have so many manis to post, because even though I don't post more often, I paint my nails every two or three days. So please stay tuned!

First, something about the blog...
Because of my new design, I had to remove the Google+ comments and switch to the normal Blogger comments, because the Google+ comments box did strange things to the template. That's bad, because all your lovely comments from the past are now gone... I mean, not really deleted, but not visible, until my fiancè and I find a way to implement it.

I recentyl bought a mini set of three polishes from the Essie jiggle hi jiggle low Winter Collection. Now for the polishes and manis I did:

Pink Polka Dots

Hey ladies!

How are you on this first Advent Sunday? I'm feeling fine today and I'm in full Christmas mood now and after writing this post I will start to decorate the house! Can you believe we celebrate Christmas again in less than a month?!
Before I start with Christmas and Winter manis, I want to show you some pink polka dots I did a while ago.
Let's take a look!

NEW BLOG DESIGN China Glaze The Giver Collection Swatch and Nail Art

Hy my lovely ladies!

First, I want to say WELCOME AND HELLO to all my new followers! Thank you for finding and following me!
Second, my NEW DESIGN is online!!! WHAT DO YOU THINK?? Sorry for the shout, but I LOVE it so much!! If you visited my blog this weekend you may have seen the different designs, because it was hard work and my super sweet, patient and genius fiancè (I love you so much!) managed everything perfect, don't you think?! Tell me what you think in the comments or via mail!

I bought three colors from the China Glaze The Giver Collection recently at Hypnotic Polish and I really, really wanted to swatch them properly, but after I applied them, I simply couldn't stop and forgot about photographing them without nail art. So yeah, this is less a swatch post and more a nail art post! (sorry...)
All these colors spoke to me, because they are what I call "off-whites" and because I can't get my hands on a fresh bottle of my beloved O.P.I. - My Boyfriend scales Walls, I'm constantly searching for a proper heir to it.

Guest post at Roaring Nails

Hey ladies!

The lovely Robin from Roaring Nails asked me to do a guest post for her and I said yes for sure!
It's not only nail art, I also share my thoughts about the new China Glaze - Meet me under the Stars, which I purchased recently at hypnoticpolish.
So head over and see it live there!

If you don't follow this absolutely nice and talented artist, you should really do! She is such a lovely person and she always encourages and inspires me, so I'm sure she will has the same effect on you too!

Thanks you Robin, for letting me guest post!

And it goes on with glitter!

Hy ladies!

A few weeks ago, I was really obsessed with glitter. And because you liked my last post so much I want to show you another awesome mani I did!
Warning! This will be a picture heavy post! #sorrynotsorry

Glitter Cubes!

Hey ladies!

Today I want to show you some glitter placement with diamont or rhomubs shaped glitter. Naturally I was inspired by the Queen of Glitter Placement Polish All The Nails and this POST.
I really love how the cubes pop out and I can tell you, they look so 3D in reallity, you should really really try this - it's amaazing!

Mani Swap with Sabrina from ssunnysideup

Hey ladies!

This week I did a mani swap with Sabrina from ssunnysideup. I found her on Instagram a while ago and the most surprising thing was, that she is also from Austria like me!
I have found some other Austrian nail girls since, but believe it's hard, because they are all hiding I think.
Anyways, Sabrina asked for a mani swap and I volunteered immediately!
Let's take a look!

Engagement celebration mani

Hy lovlies!

I know you are all very attentive, so you have noticed that I'm engaged since the 10th of October.
Yes, my sweet boyfriend asked me to marry him and he did everything just perfect at the proposal. I had the full romantic package - delicious dinner, lots of candles when we came back home and he even was on his knee, with the ring in his hand, when he asked me!
I was speechless, but managed to say YES.
Last week I celebrated with my parents and sister and I wore a beautiful dress for lunch. And crazy for nail art as I am, I had to match my nails with my dress. So, here we go!

Happy (late) Halloween!

Hey lovlies!

As I mentioned yesterday, I too made a little Halloween manicure, I want to show you!

1st Blogiversary!

Hy lovlies!

Today is the first birthday of my blog! How cool is that?

I was thinking about this day for a few days now, what I will write about it and how to celebrate it. I thought about a special design, but when I tried to do something yesterday, inspiration left me, only to come back today, so you will see my celebration design later!

Now, I just want to sum up the last year and my little journey. Robin from Roaringnails also had her anniversary shortly and I really liked her post about it, so this inspired mine heavily.
But first, a pic of my Halloween manicure (including damaged cuticles - the cold weather is killing them, I tell you) I wore a few days ago. I didn't find the the time to post about it, but you will get one with more pics soon!

O.P.I. Nordic collection negative space skittlette

Hey lovlies!

Today I want to show you some nail art done with polishes from the O.P.I. Nordic Collection.
I purchased a mini nail polish set with four colors and I love those!!
I thought about a swatch post too, but then I wanted to do some nail art instead. Anyways I will tell you about the polishes and how they are doing!

Butter London - Lovely Jubbly Swatch plus nail art

Hey lovelies!

Today I want to show you Butter London - Lovely Jubbly. I bought it some time ago, along with some other Butter London polishes, because they were on sale.
I love Butter London polishes, but they are really expensive! So unless they are on sale, I don't buy them.
The quality is great, they are 3 free and don't test on animals. So, yes they are high quality, but €20 per bottle is shockingly high (at least for me...)
But I will stop whining about the price and show you some pics!

Second Liebster Award Nomination

Hey ladies!

Jacqueline from lack-is-all-i-need nominated me for the Liebster Award. As I have received this award some time ago, I will skip the whole re-nomination thing. But I happily answer Jacquelines questions first in German and then in English.
I love the concept of the Liebster Award and if the questions are not too "mainstream", but really meant to get to know the artist a bit better, it's more fun!
So go ahead and read my answers!

Shredded Dragonflies

Hello Ladies!

Today I want to share a simple manicure with you, I haven't tried yet.
Have you ever tried to layer a holo flake or glitter polish over black?
If yes, you may know, how awesome this can turn out.
So I grabbed my China Glaze - Liquid Leather and Luxe and Lush and produced this simple, but stunning mani.

31DC2014 - Recap of the last 3 weeks

Hey lovely ladies!

I'm so sorry, that I didn't post much these last few weeks. I was super busy with this 31DC2014 challenge and I'm so happy I did every single one! Yay, for nail art!
So I proudly present the finisher badge, which comes from Chalkboardnails!

31DC2104 - week 1 recap

Hey lovlies!

I've been busy doing my nails for the 31DC2014 these last weeks, but I thought I'll share it here with you two.

#31DC2014 Day 1: RED

Hey lovlies!

Today is the first day of the 31 Day Challenge 2014 brought to you by Chalkboardnails.

Today's theme is RED! I've done a design inspired by the nail polish from Christian Louboutin (follow the link to see the bottle!).

I would never buy this polish myself, because I don't like red nails that much. It looks weird to me, eventhough I don't know why... Anyways, I really liked this look, it's classy and vampy!

Used polishes and tools:
Essie - A-list
O.P.I. - Black Cherry Chutney
G&G - HK Girl top coat
Make-up sponge for the gradient

The O.P.I. polish was a bit hard to work with, because when I sponged it on, it was too sheer. I had to do sponge at least five times to get this opaque look. But I didn't want to use black, because I think it would've been a too hard contrast.

This is a very picture heavy post, because I made this some weeks before the challenge started and had more time to take pictures and edit them! I don't think there will be as much pictures in the upcoming posts! :-)

This was day 1! How do like the look?

The 31 Day Challenge #31DC2014

Hey lovlies!

Today I have a info-only post for you!
I want to participate at Chalkboardnails 31 day challenge, which means a new manicure every day!
This is tough, I know, but as I didn't paint my nails that much these last weeks, I think it will be doable!
Here is a pic of the challenges, feel free to participate yourself and don't forget to use the hashtag #31DC2014 on social media, so everyone can see your pics!

Wow, everytime I read through the list I'm all "Oh myyy... what will I be doing with THIS theme?"

I also will not post everyday on the blog I think, because doing nails and write about it everyday is a bit to much, but I will post them on Instagram and Tumblr and make a roundup post in the end!

Have you ever done something like this? What was your experience with it?

Mani swap with Becca

Hy lovlies!

Instagram is an endless source of inspiration and since I'm there, I discovered lots of new to me and talented artists. One of those is Becca (IG: becca.nails) from England, UK and she makes some awesome manis. Some days ago, she asked if someone wants to do a mani swap and I thought, well, why not?!
I chose a butterfly mani and she took my celebration mani from last week.
I felt so honored because I'm really proud of this one!

Celebrate with me it's my 100th post!

Heyyy ladies!!

Start cheering, because it's my 100th post today! I kept this special number for a special mani. I will also participate at Nailpolis 1.000.000 Facebook fans contest with this.
When I browsed through the designs who already entered, I was thinking hard, what I want to do. At first I thought, yeah maybe some glitter or a fun skittlette. But then inspiration hit me and a thought - no, do something with a technique you adore, with colors you love and nail art tools that are awesome. So go and see my multicolored gradient featuring white stripes done with my beloved nail vinyls!

piCture pOlish - Altered State swatch

Hey lovlies!

Today I have a swatch post for you! I recently purchased some piCture pOlish polishes from Nailland HU and prettypolish and I love all of them. piCture pOlish is an Australian indie brand who makes awesome polishes. I read so much and saw so many swatches and designs with polishes from them, I had to get some.
I will show you all of them in swatch posts, but I will tell you which I get, so can look it up and drool (links lead to piCture pOlish homepage except two):

And now have a look at Altered State!

Ahoi! Nautical Nails!

Hey lovlies!

Today I want to show you some nail art I did on my mothers nails. She is always a willing victim when I want to go wild on nail art!
She had to remove her gel nails recently and it's a lot easier to work on her natural nails, which are really strong and healthy even though she wore the gels a long time now.
I matched her nails with an outfit she wore on Saturday. It was so much fun to do!

Yeah for leopard prints!

Hey lovlies!

Again it's been a week since my last post, dunno why I don't find the time at the moment to post...

Today I want to show you some nail art I did with my recent purchases. I used only ILNP polishes for this design. If you don't know them yet, you should check them out! Lots of great nail artists use them and I too don't want to miss them in my collection!
That being said, let's start!

A-England swatch

Hey ladies!

Wow, it's been a week since my last post, but I had a very busy time... Something unexpected and unpleasant happend to me last Sunday, and therefore I wasn't able to post. But everything is good now, so let's have a look at two new polishes in my stash!

Watercolor pattern

Hy lovlies!

Wow, I've been so busy these last few days and I'm sorry to post so few these last weeks.
But today I want to show you something I recently previewed on Instagram.
This time I was inspired by a shirt I bought at Orsay, a fashion store here in Austria. I went to a birthday party with this shirt and grey pants and I had to do my nails with a special design for this day.
I love when people acknowledge that you matched your nails with your outfit and they did!
But let's take a look!

ILNP swatches plus nail art

Hey lovlies!

I was super busy this week, even though I wasn't working, but I was helping my family and therefore had no time to post.
Buuut, I had time to do my nails!
I mentioned a time ago, that I bought some ILNP polishes and I wanted to swatch them all at once, so it took me some time, because for swatching, I like to have longer nails.
Unfortunately all the polishes I will show you today, are retiring soon, so if you fall in love with them you have to fast and get them! I can tell you, they are really worth their money!

Indie polish swatch and nail art

Hey lovlies!

As I told you I ordered some polishes over at hypnoticpolish recently. I wanted to order something for some time now and when they had a Summer sale with some awesome polishes, I had to grab some.
I bought two top coats and to color polishes from 4 different brands, because I want to try especially indie brands.

4th of July nail art

Hey lovlies!

Just a quick (hopefully) post today!
I posted this design yesterday on Instagram and today I want to share it with you on my blog!

Comparison Swatch + Nail Art Bonus!

Hey lovlies!

A few days ago I bougth Essie - find me an oasis, from this years Summer collection. When I saw swatches of it I didn't intend to buy it, because all swatcher were complaining about the consistency. But as I'm desperatly searching for a heir to my beloved O.P.I. - My boyfriend scales walls, I thought I give it a chance.
I applied it and did THIS with it, as you may know. I thought: "Hey, this looks exactly like MBSW!".
But to proof if I'm right I applied them next to each other and the result was, that they are not the same (surprise! I'm not colorblind!).
So I took all my "off-white's" and made a comparison swatch for you!

Guest post from Cristine from Simply Nailogical

Hy ladies!

Today I want to share an awesome guest post with you! I was so excited these last few weeks and it was so hard to keep this secret, but now I can spill it!
I asked Cristine from Simply Nailogical, if she wants to do a guest post for me, and I never thought she will agree. Those of you who are on Instagram may now her and her awesome "scaled gradients". I saw one of those designs a few weeks on tumblr, I think, and was totally stunned! I found her blog and asked for a guest post! Long story short - here she is: my personal queen of awesome gradient designs!

Nail Vinyls try out with summery gradient

Hy lovlies!

I ordered some nail vinyls recently at NailVinyls. I heard about it from The Nailasaurus and Chalkboard Nails and took a look.
I have to say: WOW!! This vinyls are amaazing! They are sticky, but doesn't take the base polish with it. So if you put them on and you want to change the place - it's no problem, because they stick, even if you readjust them three times (like I had to do...). They come off with a slightly bit of effort and are not reusable.
I only used scotch tape or striping tape before, but I think I will only use these now!
I ordered: Lightning Bolts, Stars Variety Sheet, Chevron, Zebra, Straights Variety. The shipping took a bit of time (I think 3 weeks), but they are sent from the U.S., so I can live with it.

Now look what I have done!

The Challenge (Part one of more to come!) Inspired by... my boyfriend

Hey lovlies!

So, this is my first english-only post for you guys! I hope, I don't make more errors now... :-)

Ok, I asked my boyfriend a couple of days ago to create a design for me... and you can't image how surprised I was, when he finally came up with it!

And yes, I could!

Neuerung

Hey meine Lieben!

Guest Post from Robin at Roaring Nails

Hey meine Lieben!
Hey lovlies!

Vielen Dank, Robin!
Today I have something really special for you! Robin from Roaring Nails did a guestpost for me!
I got to know Robin, when she guest posted for Lucy from The Nail Snail and since that our blogging friendship deepend a lot. She is really one of the nicest bloggers out there and she encouraged me a lot, without her I wouldn't have done f.e. leopard prints! We are in close contact I was so happy when she agreed to guest post for me, even though she had a lot of exams recently.
She brought up a very summery design I like a lot.
You have to stop by at her blog, now with a new name, not only because of her cute designs, but only she is really funny!
Thanks a lot Robin!

Glossar

Hey meine Lieben!

Was haltet ihr davon?

Ganz liebe Grüße

Frankie

KIKO Make up Milano Swatch days - KIKO 516 Metallic Stone

Hey meine Lieben!
Hey lovlies!

Today is the last day of my KIKO polish swatch days. Very soon I'll start my ILNP swatch days and I just want to say: your eyes will pop out of your head when you see these amazing polishes!
But back to KIKO. The last polish I want to show you is KIKO 516 Metallic Stone and the name describes the polish perfectly. 516 Metallic Stone is a dark gray metallic polish and like every other KIKO polish it's fully opaque in just two coats. The consistency is very nice and there are no brushstrokes (after adding top coat) to see, which can be a problem with metallic polishes.

KIKO Make up Milano Swatch days - KIKO 524 Blue Multicolor

Hey meine Lieben!
Hey lovlies!

Just a short swatch post today, because I didn't make any nail art with it!

Mikroglitzer drinnen. Wirklich sehr schön!
This polish consists of a dark grey base with blue and purple shimmer or rather micro glitter. It is really beautiful.

Sorry for the crappy pics, unfortunately I didn't took the pics right after applying it!

KIKO Make up Milano Swatch days - KIKO 530

Hey meine Lieben!
Hey lovlies!

As promised I continue with my KIKO Make up Milano Swatch days, and this time I want to show you a really amazing color! KIKO 530 Pearly Blue Peacock is a blue-green duochrome polish with blue-green microglitter. But you have to see it in person to get an idea how great it looks!
When I spotted it in the store, I was instantly reminded of Robin's mermaid nails, which she posted a while ago on her blog rexxxdidit. I knew this polish would fit perfect for it!
Thank you so much for the inspiration, Robin!

KIKO Make up Milano Swatch days - KIKO 497

Hey meine Lieben!
Hey lovlies!

Oh man, it's hot in our small country, but tomorrow, Thursday, it's over with the heat!
However - I bought some really cool KIKO Make up Milano polishes last week.  I choose 4 amazing colors I want to show you during my KIKO Make up Milano swatch days, and sometimes I even do nail art with it!
First, a bit about my experience with these polishes:
  • The polishes are very cheap! I paid only €2,90 per bottle for these four!
  • The drying time is ok.
  • But you need to apply top coat to bring out the bright colors or the amazing glitter!
  • You can buy them online (also internationally!)!! Here I have a link to their homepage - kikocosmetics.
Now, lets start with KIKO - 497 Pearly Indian Violet!

Halfmoon Aztec

Hey meine Lieben und einen schönen Vatertag!
Hey lovlies and I wish you a wonderful fathersday!

This week I was in the mood for some halfmoon nails. It's a upside-down french design, where you paint the upper third of your nail, either with help of tape or reinforcer or freehand. I did it with some reinforcers, which was helpful but not very tidy. The look was a bit boring, so I spiced it up with some aztec patterns.

Wow, coole Nägel! - Wow, nice nails!

Hey meine Lieben! Hey lovlies!

The last few days I got a lot of compliments for a really simple design of mine. I was a bit disappointed again, because I wanted to swatch Gabriella Salvette - 117 for you. This black polish with tiny holo-glitter in it, only looks good in the bottle. I don't have a clue why, but I thought, well lets spice it up with some golden holo sequins. Unfortunately, you can't see the holo effect of the sequins on the pics, but believe me, when I say, it was stunning!
